This is a European wide initiative where in October of each year volunteers go into local Comprehensive Schools and teach pupil Basic Life Support skills, including CPR.

Last October (2017) Porthcawl Community First Responders were involved in the 'Restart-a-Heart' day at Porthcawl Comprehensive School. We were part of a training team that consisted of:-
  • Nurse
  • Police Staff member
  • Police Officer
  • Ambulance Service Staff
  • Doctor
  • Fire Fighter

As a result of 'Restart-a-Heart day 2017:-
  • 196 Porthcawl Comprehensive School students were trained in Basic Life Support and CPR.
  • Over 195,000 pupils were trained across the U.K.
